In a world full of noise, competition, and shortcuts, integrity often goes unnoticed. Yet, it is one of the most powerful qualities we can nurture in ourselves and our children.

Integrity means doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. It’s choosing honesty over convenience, truth over comfort, and responsibility over excuses. For our students, it might look like owning up to a mistake, speaking kindly when others don’t, or standing firm in their values amidst peer pressure.

As parents, educators, and role models, we have the incredible privilege of shaping young hearts. Integrity starts with us. The words we speak, the promises we keep, and the example we live are the seeds from which character grows.

Proverbs 10:9 reminds us, “Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.” When we walk in integrity, we create a firm foundation—not just for ourselves, but for the generations who follow.

This week, let’s encourage integrity in the small moments. Celebrate honesty. Praise accountability. And above all, let’s model the kind of character we hope to see in the next generation.

The Uniform shop will be closed over the school holidays but will open on Monday 21 July from 9am - 12noon for walk ins only.

Dear Primary Families,

As we head into the final week of semester, I thank our students for their efforts with our campus theme of ‘Work Hard, Be Kind’.

Students have worked hard with their academics, on the sporting field, practicing song and dance, and in many other areas. We also recently enjoyed exploring the ‘B Kinder’ Day, which is about connecting people, being inclusive and being kind.

I hope the end of semester break is a wonderful time for family, rest and relaxation.

End of semester reports will be available Monday the 30th of June. We will send through a document with instructions on the best way to view semester reports.

Pick up during the school day: If you need to pick up your child early, please write a note in their diary so the teacher is aware. Afterschool Supervision: We encourage all parents to collect their children from school as close as possible to the end of the school day. Students must be supervised after dismissal while waiting for basketball games or practice sessions. If a parent or guardian is unable to be present, Grade 3 to 6 students can go to the library (until 4.30pm) or can be booked into Camp Australia for supervision.

Join us in supporting Backpack 4 Vic Kids, an Australian organisation that provides essential items to children in crisis, before formal support services are available. Pyjamas are one of the items most in demand.

For a gold coin donation, students can wear their pyjamas to school. All funds raised will go toward purchasing children’s pyjamas for the charity. Families are also encouraged to donate new, clean, or gently used pyjamas in children’s sizes (newborn to teenager).

The Primary Book Parade is taking place Tuesday 5 August, Period 1 in the gym. Students are to come to school dressed as their favourite book character.
There will be prizes for the best costumes in each class as well as prizes for the best costumes for mums, dads and grandparents.

Congratulations to Grace and Pearl for receiving the Flinders values award during last weeks Primary Chapel.

Grace received her award for exemplifying the Flinders values of humility and excellence. She consistently strives to do her best and is a quiet achiever who encourages others.

Pearl received her award for displaying grace and humility . She is consistently kind and respectful, quietly supports others with patience and understanding.

Thank you to our coaches for the outstanding work you do, as volunteers. To assist with timetabled Health & PE classes, please refrain from entering the gymnasium until 3.20pm. Secondary classes often run in the gym until this time. As this is a classroom space, we kindly ask that coaches set up after 3.20pm.

In addition, the gym is ‘food free’ for students. If students require a snack before training, they can eat in the foyer where bins are provided. Only water bottles should be used during training sessions. We appreciate your help with these matters.

Prayer Team at Flinders

Each Tuesday, a dedicated prayer team gathers to pray for our students, families, and staff. We believe in the power of prayer and the promises of our powerful God, as found in John 14:12–14:

12 “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.”
13 “And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”
14 “You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.”

Support Systems for Families and Students

Our house system provides a strong foundation of pastoral care. House mentors are the first point of contact for both students and families. If more serious issues arise, please reach out to your child’s Head of House or Deputy Head of House. These leaders are here to walk alongside your family and assist with matters such as:

If a student’s behavioural issue needs to be escalated, our Head of Students, Mrs. Consgrave, will step in to support the situation in partnership with House Leaders.

What an incredible night of talent at the recent Flinders Gala! Our students showcased the very best of Flinders’ Arts progam. A heartfelt thank you to our Performing Arts, Visual Arts, and Music departments for all their hard work in bringing this event to life.

A special mention goes to Mrs. Sarah Cossy-Glaubert, our Head of Performing Arts, for her vision and leadership in directing such a memorable showcase of student creativity and excellence.

We’re thrilled to announce that our U17 girls basketball team has secured their first win in the prestigious NBA Invitational 2025 competition! In a dynamic and high-energy game against Delhi Public School, Rajnandgaon (IND), our players delivered a dominant performance, winning 68–28.

The team showcased outstanding teamwork, s

harp shooting, and solid defense, each player playing their part in this memorable victory. It’s a proud moment for our school and a promising start to their tournament campaign.

Recently 11 secondary school females participated in the Little PNG event. This was an incredible opportunity where the students stayed overnight at school, immersing themselves in challenging living conditions. Throughout the event, they attended classes as usual while experiencing firsthand some of the hardships faced by underprivileged children. This initiative aimed to raise both funds and awareness for the Gateway Children's Fund, highlighting the struggles of children in need while fostering empathy, resilience, and a spirit of giving among participants.

The girls together have raised a total of $3311.

This is outstanding thank you to all staff and students who made this possible.

Flinders was proudly represented by both a Boys and Girls team in Division 1, as well as a Boys and Girls team in Division 2.

Our Division 2 Boys and Girls teams put up a strong fight throughout the day against some very talented schools.

A special congratulations to our U15 Boys team, who progressed through to the Grand Final and finished as Runners-Up in Division 1!

And an outstanding effort from our U15 Girls team, who pushed hard all day and were crowned Division 1 Champions!

Well done to all students involved – we are so proud of your teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship.

Congratulations to our U17 teams who represented Flinders at the Victorian Secondary Schools Challenge Finals held at the State Basketball Centre.

Our Division 1 Boys team had an outstanding day on the court, displaying skill, teamwork, and determination. Their hard work paid off as they went undefeated and were crowned Division 1 Champions – an incredible achievement!

Our Division 2 Girls team showed great resilience and spirit throughout the day, going head-to-head with some tough competition. They fought hard in every game and should be extremely proud of their efforts and improvement across the tournament.
