Sport @ Flinders College...
Flinders College offers an after school and lunchtime coaching program in various sporting activities, including: netball, basketball, tennis, golf, athletics and chess. Teams are entered in competitions organised by local sporting associations and each year teams compete regularly with other Christian Schools.
Flinders Christian Community College encourages all students to participate actively in a wide range of sporting activities. The sports program complements the Physical Education component of the curriculum. Training sessions are organised during lunchtimes and after school in preparation for interschool competitions.
The College conducts annual House Competitions in:
- Athletics and Cross Country for Primary students;
- Athletics, Swimming and Cross Country for Secondary students.
All students are encouraged to participate.
The College selects teams to participate in such Inter-school sports meets as are practical. These include Swimming, Athletics, Cross Country and some team sports.
At the Tyabb campus, in Years 7 and 8 the students participate in several Rally Days of inter-house sport, when they compete in their chosen teams in a round robin of matches culminating in finals for House points.

Flinders College (Tyabb and Carrum Downs campuses) is a member of Southern Independent Schools (S.I.S.) which provides the opportunity for Secondary students to compete at a high standard with other Independent schools in a variety of sports at top class venues. The SIS swimming carnival is held at the State Swimming Centre and the SIS Athletics Carnival is held at Olympic Park. Our senior secondary students compete in other SIS sports events such as: cricket, netball, basketball, volleyball, football, soccer etc.
Flinders College (Latrobe City Campus, Traralgon) is a member of Gippsland Independent Schools (G.I.S.) which provides similar sporting opportunities to S.I.S.
