Information Technology The Future of eLearning @ Flinders College

eLearning refers to a broad range of activities that involve the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) to support and enhance learning. It includes the effective use of digital resources and learning tools, collaboration with colleagues and mentors in other locations, the experience of a virtual environment and access to online courses from home or within the community. eLearning has the potential to provide learning content with other learners in an interactive manner, and to realise their full potential educationally and personally.

VCE Provision by Blended Learning

Blended Learning is an integral part of Flinders Christian Community College VCE Provision. Blended Learning enables the COllege:

  • To harness the improved ICT capabilities so that the approach to teaching and learning becomes increasingly sophisticated and continues to be best practice in school education.
  • To enhance the communication channels that are available to teachers and students to improve student outcomes.
  • To harness the increasingly wide rich Internet based media that students use as a ‘matter of course’ including what is now called ‘Web 2.0 tools’.
  • To increase the number of subjects offered.

The College is very excited about what has been achieved in blended VCE provision and looks forward to future developments. The result of the initiative is that more students can access more courses and these courses are taught by experienced teachers who are specialists in their areas.
