The future for Flinders Christian Community College is bright. Its history records a guiding hand in all its works. The glimpses of the toil, effort, dedication and inspiration of so many, which are evident in this history of the early life of Flinders Christian Community College, will add a rich tapestry to the future life of the college….

One of the major concerns for parents nowadays centres on their child’s use of the internet and mobile phones. It’s easy to get caught up in the cyber safety and cyber security space and concentrate merely on those issues involving technology. The reality is, however, that the influences on children and young people come from all different areas and we need to take a holistic approach to their safety and wellbeing. Often, cyberbullying and sexting are the most visible of a range of issues as they leave behind some digital trace, but they may coexist with other crucial concerns. In our second-last issue of the year, we’re going to look at some of the other influences on children and young people.

It has been noted that an increasing number of parent cars have been travelling into our school grounds beyond the Boes Road car park limit, in order to access the gymnasium and music building or for other purposes.
Parents are reminded to use the designated parking bays in the Boes Road parking area whenever dropping off or picking up students for any reason.
The road and area beyond the Boes Road carpark is for authorised use only.
Thank you for your cooperation.
In conjunction with the Archibald Prize, the Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery have launched a new art prize, focusing on young artists in the Mornington Peninsula community. Limited entries from local schools were selected and they are currently displayed at various venues throughout the Peninsula.
To all our concerned parents:
As the traffic congestion builds along Mornington-Tyabb and Jones Roads during this wet weather we ask that you extend patience to all around you. The school is aware that closing the oval has added to the delays and congestion during pick up times. In our situation, this is exacerbated by having another school directly opposite.
Year 7 Science Activity
One area of study in Year 7 science in Term 2 is Simple Machines. Following the study of different types of levers, students have to design and construct their own (mini)catapult using simple materials. While most of the students try to build a convention “tower” design, Harry and James came up with the most simple yet efficient design. They used the least material to achieve the best firing distance!
