Somers Camp is a children’s camp in the July school holidays for Years 3 to 9. It is run by the Uniting Church from 1st to 5th July. The Mother’s Day Classic is held on Mother’s Day each year in locations all over the country. However, this year is the first time the event has been held on the Mornington Peninsula. It is a popular community event that donates all proceeds to breast cancer research. Last year’s event attracted over 125,000 participants nationally and has raised over $14.8 million for breast cancer research since inception.

Parks Victoria will be running an integrated pest animal control program throughout The Pines Flora and Fauna Reserve until the 31st May 2013. The program will include soft-jaw traps and baits. To reduce the risk to domestic cats and dogs please ensure that cats do not wander within the park and keep dogs restrained on a lead at all times.
